Jun 25, 2013 (newstodate): Armenia's Yerevan Zvartnots Airport has seen its cargo volumes slightly rising in 2013 despite the shortfall of the traffic by Armavia from the start of this year.
A total of 4,213 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport during January-May 2013, an increase by two percent, y-o-y.
Export cargo actually increased by 31 percent, y-o-y, to 2,470 tonnes, while imports declined by 22.2 percent to 1,743 tonnes.
In 2012, the Armenian airport handled a total of 10,392 tonnes of cargo, up 5.4 percent, y-o-y, including 6,687 tonnes of exports, up 41 percent, and 5,564 tonnes of imports, up 5.5 percent, y-o-y.
