May 16, 2013 (newstodate): Ukraine's Kherson Airport has put on a hard fight to attract air traffic.
The airport has one 2,500m runway and will initially have the capacity of handling 100 passengers per hour, with the terminal equipped with two passenger bridges.
But - it still lacks any significant air traffic.
As one venue for the future development air cargo traffic and logistics services will be developed, and the airport has recently conducted an international conference with participants from more than 40 airlines and tour operators.
Among the markets to be served by Kherson Airport are the Ukrainean agricultural producers exporting commodities to the northern part of russia, and the Ukrainean military units.
