May 07, 2013 (newstodate): Singapore Airlines Cargo has seen its export volumes in Denmark declining over the last year.
During the first three months of 2012 the carrier lifted a total of 1,036 tonnes of Danish export cargo out of Copenhagen Airport, its Nordic freighter hub.
In 2013, this declined to 734 tonnes during the same period - a drop by 29.2 percent, y-o-y.
In January 2013, Singapore Airlines Cargo lifted 314 tonnes of Danish exports, down 18 percent, y-o-y.
In February 2013, loads were 166 tonnes, down 53.4 percent, and in March 2013 totals were 254 tonnes, down 35.7 percent, y-o-y.
The same three months in 2012 were also marked by negative y-o-y growth by 21, 25.1 and 8.1 percent, respectively.
Neither the Danish, nor the European SIA Cargo officials are keen to comment on this negative trend.
-Sorry, will not be able to answer your questions in detail. However can say that is not always desirable to be the biggest player in the market. Important is to have healthy and sustainable operations, says Mathias Elverfeldt, Regional Manager Switzerland, Scandinavia and Italy, Singapore Airlines Cargo Pte Ltd.
