May 06, 2013 (newstodate): The SAS Group has taken a further step towards its target to secure the long-term financial stability by selling off one more business from the shelf.
The Norwegian domestic carrier Wideroe has now found new owners in the form of a group comprising the transportation group Torghatten ASA, Norway's largest ferry company Fjord1 AS and a county, Nordland Fylkeskommune.
Wideroe operates a fleet comprising 39 Bombardier aircraft including eight Dash 8 Q400 aircraft.
SAS will retain ownership of 20 percent of the shares in the carrier but plans to pull out entirely from 2016.
