May 22, 2013 (newstodate): Russia's top-5 cargo carriers are still growing their common share in the country's air cargo industry.
During this year's Q1, the five carrier accounted for 75.9 percent of all cargo transported by Russian airlines, up from 72.7 percent in Q1, 2012.
Together, they lifted 171,000 tonnes of cargo in Q1 2013, compared to 163,512 tonnes in the year before.
The top-5 carriers in Q1, 2013, were AirBridgeCargo with 92,410 tonnes, up 9.9 percent, y-o-y, followed by Aeroflot, 41,063 tonnes and down 2.7 percent, Volga-Dnepr, 16,137 tonnes and 10.3 percent, Transaero with 13, 258 tonnes and up 16.4 percent, and finally S7 Sibir with 8,133 tonnes and 3.4 percent, y-o-y.
In total, Russian carriers lifted 221,641 tonnes of cargo during January-March 2013, down 1.7 percent, y-o-y.
