May 17, 2013 (newstodate): Flights by UTAir Ukraine to Lithuania proved a rather short-lived experiment.
UTAir Ukraine launched flights on the route between Kiev and Vilnius from March 22, 2013, offering three weekly rotations using ATR 72 aircraft on the route.
The carrier, however, announced the closing down of the flights from May 18, 2013, offering no information on the background for this decision.
The route was the carrier's first entry into western Europe and the Baltic region.
The route was left vacant after Aerosvit stopped its flights in January 2013, forcing passengers between the two destinations to fly via Frankfurt or other transfer points.
