May 07, 2013 (newstodate): Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport has landed a new airline customer among western cargo airlines.
New on the tarmac is Finland's Nordic Global Airlines that will use the airport as a transit hub for a technical landing for refueling on its flights from Helsinki to Hong Kong.
The carrier, a JV between Finnair and Neff Capital Management, operates the route twice-weekly using MD-11 cargo aircraft.
Among cargo airlines currently operating through the airport are Air China Cargo, Cargolux, Air China Cargo, Yangtze River Express as well as Aeroflot, AirBridgeCargo and Polet Airlines.
The infrastructure of Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport comprises two runways at 3,600 as well as two cargo terminals.
In 2012, the airport handled a total of 28,028 tonnes of cargo, up 29 percent, y-o-y, and estimates to grow this volume to more than 35,000 tonnes in 2013.
