May 10, 2013 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo narrowly beat Qatar Airways in the fight for the top position on IATA's Top-10 list of Norway's export cargo carriers in March 2013.
In a market that dropped 16.3 percent, y-o-y, to 7,524 tonnes in March, Finnair Cargo lifted 1,044 tonnes of export cargo out of the country, holding a market share of 13.9 percent.
But Qatar Airways trailed closely behind with 1,042 tonnes and a market share at 13.8 percent.
Qatar Airways, however, dropped 4.7 percent, y-o-y, while Finnair Cargo increased its volume by 2.2 percent.
Besides Finnair Cargo, only two other Top-10 carriers managed to grow positively in March 2013.
#10, Cargo Air Lines made its entrance in the market with 325 tonnes which was up 25 percent, while Emirates grew its volumes by four percent, y-o-y, to 506 tonnes.
#3, Korean Air Cargo lifted 853 tonnes but was down 17.1 percent, and #4KLM Cargo also dropped 12.9 percent to 765 tonnes.
SAS Cargo was ranked #5 in Norway in March 2013 with 627 tonnes, but down 12 percent.
