May 24, 2013 (newstodate): Denmark has got a new regional airport: Hans Christian Andersen Airport!
As part of efforts to boost the regional marketing of Denmark's central island of Funen with Odense, H C Andersen's birth place, the airport has decided to change its brand name from Odense Airport to Hans Christian Andersen Airport with immediate effect.
Call signs and other aeronautical identities will, however, remain unchanged.
Today, the airport is building up a new market as a regional charter operations airport, adding a new capacity as a Unmanned Aircraft Systems test center.
