May 03, 2013 (newstodate): The Estonian government is not precluding the possibility of finding a co-investor to the state-owned carrier Estonian Air.
Speaking at a new conference, the Estonian Minister of Economy said he would not deny that the state is not interested in an expansion of the ownership base while offering no further details.
Adding to speculations, he also reportedly said that Estonian Air might return to profitability within two years - which is however not visibly warranted by its current financial and economic performance.
So far the only indication of new partners for cooperation remains the mentioning of Lithuania, where the two governments have aired visions of sharing a VIP aircraft for government use.
Lithuania, however, does not currently have an own airline pending the realization of the Air Lituanica-project that still remains in the blue skies.
