May 23, 2013 (newstodate): Latvia's airBaltic has entered a code-share agreement with Ukraine International Airlines covering the flights between Riga and Kiev.
Until January 2013, airBaltic code-shared the flights with the now-defunct carrier Aerosvit.
From the last winter schedule 2012/2013, this code-share agreement with Aerosvit was to be expanded to comprise also Aerosvit's onward flights from Kiev to Donetsk, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Odessa, Simferopol and Dnepropetrovsk, but this never materialized as Aerosvit flew into heavy financial turbulence.
In contrast, the new agreement between airBaltic and UIA covers only the Riga-Kiev flights, operated by airBaltic with two daily rotations using Boeing 737 aircraft.
