May 23, 2013 (newstodate): An announcement is awaited on June 15, 2013, sealing the deal between Etihad and Serbia's national carrier JAT.
Plans are for Etihad to take over 49 percent of the shares in the ailing Serb carrier that has thus at long last secured another chapter in its troubled history.
Under the forthcoming agreement, JAT will take in two Airbus A319 from Adria Airways. The aircraft are currently on a six-year lease contract with AerCap, and JAT will thus take over the aircraft for the remaining 3.5 years of the lease period.
