May 1, 2013 (newstodate): Icelandair Ground Services has commissioned Lufthansa Consulting to upgrade its catering facility at the country's Keflavik International Airport.
The upgrading is driven by the need to cater to increasing passenger traffic by Icelandair and other carriers at the airport aiming at achieving capabilities to cope with future demands for a full range of catering activities.
Following the project kick-off, consultants have defined enhanced catering and logistics processes and planned space requirements for all production and logistic areas, including layout improvements to expand facility areas where required.
These construction works were completed during the slack winter season in order not to affect daily operations.
