May 06, 2013 (newstodate): As the first airline in the region, Kazakhstan's Air Astana is now taking delivery of its first Airbus A320 equipped with sharklets.
The 2.4 m high sharklets will allow the operator to either fly some 100 miles longer or, alternatively, lift a further 450 kg of loads.
More sharklet-equipped Airbus A320 aircraft will follow through 2013, joining a fleet already comprising one A319, seven A320 and four A321 aircraft.
