May 22, 2013 (newstodate): Starting from June 6, 2013, Finnair is introducing the Airbus A340-300 aircraft on Thursday morning flights between Helsinki and Brussels, Finnair Cargo's second European hub opened on March 6, 2013.
Using the long-haul aircraft on the European route will serve both the purpose of optimizing the utilization of the Airbus aircraft as well as adding extra cargo capacity on the route feeding shipments to and from Finnair's and Finnair Cargo's Asian destinations.
Finnair Cargo is already operating MD-11F rotations on the freighter route between Brussels and Helsinki on Saturdays and Sundays.
In addition to these operations, Finnair operates up to four daily narrow-body flights between Helsinki and Brussels as well as scheduled road feeder services between the two hubs.
