May 02, 2013 (newstodate): Air cargo volumes at Denmark's Billund Airport were increasing in April 2013, according to the latest statistics.
A total of 5,553 tonnes of cargo was handled at at the airport - an increase by 8.3 percent, y-o-y.
The growth was solely driven by a 34.8 percent increase in exports, to 3,093 tonnes, while imports continued its downward spiral with a drop by 13.1 percent to 2,460 tonnes.
During January-April 2013, the airport handled a total of 19,849 tonnes of cargo, down 3.2 percent, y-o-y.
Totals included 11,081 tonnes of export cargo, up 9.2 percent, y-o-y, and 8,768 tonnes of import cargo that dropped by 15.3 percent.
