May 07, 2013 (newstodate): The Finnish IATA export cargo market is changing, with Finnair Cargo's slice continuing to decrease.
Until last year, the carrier's share of the market was well above 50 percent - but this proportion is now down to 44.8 percent in March 2013, according to the latest statistics available, after dropping 10.3 percent, y-o-y, to 1,589 tonnes.
In February, the share was 44.9 percent, with volumes down 19 percent, y-o-y, to 1,252 tonnes.
In January, the share was 45.1 percent, with volumes down 6.5 percent to 1,465 tonnes, while December 2012 ended with a 45.7 percent market share, with volumes down 2.3 percent to 1,361 tonnes.
The distance to #2 in the Finnish IATA export airfreight market is, however, still significant.
This position is held by Lufthansa Cargo with 474 tonnes in March 2013 after growing 24 percent, y-o-y, and holding 13.4 percent of the total market.
