May 07, 2013 (newstodate): The Belarus carrier Belavia is seeing its cargo volumes rising in 2013.
A total of 630 tonnes of cargo and mail was transported during the first four months of 2013, an increase by 11.9 percent, y-o-y.
April 2013 was not, however, a positive contributor to this performance as cargo dropped 9.4 percent, y-o-y, to 137 tonnes reflecting the general downturn in the global air cargo industry.
In 2012 the carrier transported 1,284,201 passengers and 1,697 tonnes of cargo and mail, which was 23.9 and seven percent up on 2011, respectively.
Belavia now operates a fleet comprising 23 aircraft.
