May 21, 2013 (newstodate): Expectations are running high for seeing the new airbus A350XWB in the air very soon.
Unconfirmed sources point at the opportunity for Airbus to steal the picture at the imminent Paris Air Show on June 17-23, but others suspect the company to be planning the virgin flight already during the airbus Innovation Days 2013 taking place in Toulouse, June 5-6, 2013.
So far, Airbus has only said that it expects the first flight during this summer.
Airbus has till now booked a total of 617 firm orders for the new aircraft, a potent competitor to the Boeing 787 aircraft that has snatched a total of 890 orders, with 50 aircraft delivered albeit suffering from a month-long grounding due to Lithium battery problems.
