Apr 10, 2013 (newstodate): Ukraine is gradually liberalizing its air services agreements with an increasing number of countries.
Already close to open skies are air services between Ukraine and a group of countries including Georgia, Spain, Russia, Slovakia, Romania and the United Arab Emirates.
Soon to come are similar open skies-agreements with another 13 countries including Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Denmark, Latvia, Libya, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Mongolia, Norway, Syria, Slovenia and Sweden.
Less-open skies are still existing between Ukraine and 13 other countries including Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Israel where restrictions apply concerning volume of flights by designated carriers.
For flights between Ukraine and the UK, Moldova, Germany, Hungary and Poland the air services agreements still regulate the total volume of flights, while requirements on the number of routes and designation of carriers have been lifted.
