Apr 17, 2013 (newstodate): Turkish Airlines has firmed up its foothold on the Scandinavian markets through a new code-share agreement with SAS.
With the two Star Alliance-partners code-sharing on a number of routes, passengers can now fly THY/SK between many Scandinavian and Turkish destinations, transferring at Istanbul Ataturk Airport.
Thus, Scandinavian passengers can fly from Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Helsinki, Aalborg and Billund to Istanbul, continuing on Turkish Airline flights to Ankara, Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman and Izmir.
Turkish Airlines will also add their code to more than 20 destinations in Scandinavia and Finland.
Turkish Airlines is already a strong player in the Nordic air travel markets, operating three daily flights to Copenhagen and Stockholm, twelve weekly flights to Oslo and Helsinki, ten weekly flights to Gothenburg and three weekly flights to Aalborg/Billund - a total of almost 80 weekly flights between Istanbul and Scandinavia/Finland.
