Apr 08, 2013 (newstodate): Serbia's Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport has seen a decline in cargo volumes through this year's first quarter.
A total of 1,515 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, down eight percent, y-o-y, while mail volumes remained unchanged against last year at 249 tonnes.
The expected new cooperation with Etihad may bring fresh impetus to the Serb airfreight market, and expectations are that Etihad will also finance the long-overdue construction of a new air cargo terminal at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport.
