Apr 23, 2013 (newstodate): After years in the clouds, Serbia's JAT is on the move in 2013.
The carrier recently signed an important code-share agreement with Etihad opening up for cooperation on many routes.
Now, JAT is to sign a similar agreement with Air Berlin, extending the pro-rating cooperation already in place to comprise a code-share agreement comprising the JAT-operated routes between Belgrade and Berlin and Dusseldorf as well as a number of Air Berlin's routes in Europe and, notably, to the USA.
Since 2004, JAT has been barred from opening own routes to the USA being rated as Category II.
JAT may, however, offer flights to the USA in connection with code-share agreements with airlines registered in Category I countries, such as Germany.
