Apr 29, 2013 (newstodate): Russia's large oil and gas company Rosneft has cast its eyes on potentials for expansion in neighboring country Kyrgyzstan.
Rosneft has thus signed an agreement with Kyrgyzstan's Bishkek Manas International Airport for setting up a working group to evaluate two investment projects in Manas International Airport and Osh International Airport.
Both projects will be designed to allow for participation by other partners as well in passenger and cargo handling and airport management.
At Manas Int'l Airport, the project will either renovate the existing fueling station or, alternatively, construct a new fueling complex.
Construction of a new passenger and cargo terminal is also included in the agenda at Manas Int'l Airport.
Manas Int'l Airport with one 4,200 m runway served 1,056,000 passengers in 2012.
As for Osh, plans are to evaluate both a reconstruction of the existing airport, or the construction of an entirely new airport to serve the region.
Osh Int'l Airport has one 2,614 m runway and served 836,000 passengers in 2012.
