Apr 15, 2013 (newstodate): Russia and Turkey are to cooperate more freely in civil aviation.
The two parties have signed a civil aviation agreement to expand air services and remove restrictions so far hampering the development.
Under the new agreement, both sides will be allowed to increase flight volumes, open up routes to new destinations in Turkey and Russia, and code-share their flight services.
Turkish carrier have also gained rights to use Russian airspace on flights between Turkey and destinations in the CIS region.
Turkish carriers have furthermore gained rights for up to 21 weekly flights along Trans-Siberian airlines for destinations in the Far East
