Apr 16, 2013 (newstodate): Processing of the AOC application from Air Lituanica is proceeding - but no date for its completion is yet at hand.
-The process is indeed progressing rather well, but four divisions of Lithuania's Civil Aviation Authority are involved which makes it a rather complex issue, says Rytis Dulinskas, Lithuania CAA Flight Operations Division Deputy Head.
-So far the process has worked fast, and if Air Lituanica continues to respond promptly to our requests for information and documentation the process can be completed in due time. But I would not make any estimate of exactly when and how fast the projected airline can have its AOC granted.
-At least, any airline should not make plans for start of operations before the AOC has been granted, says Mr Dulinskas.
Air Lituanica has earlier told newstodate that is expects to launch services by June or July, 2013, starting out with with two Embraer E-170 or E-175 aircraft on flights from Vilnius to six destinations.
According to Simonas Bartkus, Air Lituanica CCO, the airline will announce destinations as well as the opening of bookings during the latter part of April 2013
