Apr 23, 2013 (newstodate): Norway's ever-expanding low-cost carrier has announced its decision to establish an own air cargo subsidiary, Norwegian Cargo, with operations officially starting from May 2, 2013.
Norwegian Cargo will manage sales and marketing in its international markets through a wide network of GSA agreements, while the Nordic markets will be managed directly by the company, according to yesterday's release.
Cooperating with Jetpak since 2008, Norwegian already accepts cargo shipments for transportation within Scandinavia, but the opening of new intercontinental routes to the USA and Thailand from 2013 will add new possibilities along the route network now comprising some 120 destinations.
newstodate is seeking more information on this new business venture, including plans for IT support services, handling partners, types of cargo to be accepted, interline agreement and other pertinent issues.
