Apr 09, 2013 (newstodate): Latvia's new charter and ACMI cargo carrier, Alpha Express Airlines is reporting sound performance and stable progress.
-We are still new in the market but things are moving according to plans, says Rolands Ramins, Alpha Express Airlines CEO.
-Our Airbus A300F4-200 freighter is still based in Sharjah, primarily operating charter flights between the Emirates and Afghanistan, but plans remain to move the aircraft to Europe, maybe Riga, as warranted by the market.
-Competition is strong in the market, but we have managed to identify a small niche that is working well for us. Plans remain to add more aircraft as business grows, and we will probably stick with Airbus freighters when that become an issue. But we have to admit, of course, that things do not move fast overnight, says Mr Ramins.
Alpha Express Airlines was registered in Latvia in 2012, and after landing its AOC the carrier took delivery of its first aircraft - an ex-Georgian Star International Airbus A300F4-200 freighter.
