Apr 15, 2013 (newstodate): The Serb carrier JAT may finally reach safe haven with a Gulf carrier as a new owner.
Top-brass from JAT and Etihad will reportedly meet in Belgrade today, April 15, to sign a MoU for Etihad to to take 49 percent of the shares in the ailing Serb carrier.
A press conference has been called this morning, and expectations are that fresh details will be announced on a code-share agreement and a new route connecting Abu Dhabi and Belgrade.
After signatures to the said MoU have been inked, Etihad would then start a week-long process to go through all corners of their new acquisition, ending with a new business plan, new top management and decision on a future aircraft fleet.
