Apr 24, 2013 (newstodate): The Lithuanian charter and ACMI carrier Small Planet Airlines sees IOSA certification as an issue for future decision.
Recently, the airline's lack of IOSA certification was a topic in the Danish press in connection with a decision on a contract for uplift of Danish military personnel.
-We do not see any need for implementing an IOSA certification for the time being, says Vytautas Kaikaris, Small Planet Airlines CEO.
-In our operations we adhere to all requirements by IATA. At present, our focus is on the full charter business which does not require IOSA certification, which is also a time-consuming and costly process.
-If in the future our focus shifts to providing ACMI services for IOSA-certified carriers, we will of course take the decision to start the IOSA certification process, says Mr Kaikaris.
