Apr 25, 2013 (newstodate): Since January 29, 2013, Qatar Airways Cargo has been online at Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport - and what started as a temporary traffic now seems to have become a permanent service.
Speaking at IATA's World Air Cargo Symposium in Doha, Qatar Airways' Akbar Al Baker disclosed the company's plans for expansion of the freighter fleet as well as its network plans, implying also freighter services through Norway.
So far, Qatar Airways Cargo has added Oslo Gardermoen Airport as a stop on the route from Amsterdam to Doha, with onward connections to Asian destinations.
Since October 5, 2011, Qatar Airways has been online at Oslo Gardermoen Airport with five weekly passenger flights using Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
Qatar Airways has rapidly secured a top position on the CASS statistics for Norway, rated #1 in both January and February 2013.
