Apr 03, 2013 (newstodate): Despite the lack of a national carrier on its home turf, Lithuania's Vilnius Airport is facing a brisk growth in air traffic during this summer's schedules.
New airline operators will be Turkish Airlines with flights to Istanbul, UTair Ukraine with flights to Kiev Zhuliany Airport, and Ukrainian International Airlines with flights to Kiev Borispol Airport.
New destinations to be reached from Vilnius Airport this summer will be Aalesund and Trondheim in Norway, operated by Wizz Air, Dusseldorf and Chania, operated by Ryanair, Istanbul, operated by Turkish Airlines, and Stockholm, operated by SAS.
In summer 2013, Vilnius Airport will see regular flights by a total of 17 carriers on routes to 33 destinations and 41 airports in 20 countries.
