Apr 15, 2013 (newstodate): The demise of Armavia on April 1,2013, left Armenia without a national carrier.
But - efforts are underway to alleviate this situation: a group of investors have come together around a new airline project, Krunk Air.
Heading the new airline will be Vladimir Poghosyan as General Director,
and initials plans are to acquire two Airbus A320 and one Airbus A340 aircraft for flights between Armenia and the USA, with final ambitions for a fleet of up to eight Airbus aircraft on a 60-destinations network.
The airline has not so far applied for an AOC.
Supporting the establishing of the new airline is also Armenia's government.
