Apr 17, 2013 (newstodate): The over-size Russian freighter AN-124 Ruslan has paid another visit to Norway.
An aircraft from Ruslan International that manages and markets the combined fleets of 17 AN-124 with Antonov Airlines and Volga Dnepr Airlines has lifted a 101-tonne oil platform component from Bergen in Norway to Busan, Korea.
The load comprising a separator along with two support frames and other loading equipment weighed a total of 114 tonnes, coming close to the aircraft's capacity for the route from Bergen to Busan via Helsinki, Novosibirsk and Tianjin.
Five tonnes of additional equipment, required for unloading at the destination, were carried on a separate flight.
The operation was one of a series required for the same project.
