Apr 30, 2013 (newstodate): Denmark's Nordic Aviation Capital has now delivered the first of four ex-factory Bombardier Q400 aircraft to the Latvian carrier airBaltic.
In April 2013, the airline signed a contract with Nordic Aviation Capital for delivery of four more Q400 aircraft on a lease agreement, adding to its fleet already comprising eight Q400 aircraft, the first of which was delivered in November 2009.
All four new Q400 aircraft will be in the fleet of airBaltic by June 2013.
The eight aircraft were originally acquired directly from Bombardier by the carrier itself, but in December 2010 airBaltic and Nordic Aviation Capital signed a sale & lease-back contract comprising the financing and leasing terms for the Q400 aircraft fleet.
