Apr 04, 2013 (newstodate): Aeroflot is to renew its fleet of 10 Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft.
Aeroflot and Sukhoi have agreed on a plan to replace the existing first-generation aircraft with new, upgraded aircraft.
Sukhoi will thus buy the 10 Superjet 100 aircraft currently operated by Aeroflot and exchange them with new aircraft during 2013-2015.
Sukhoi will then convert the ex-Aeroflot aircraft and make them available for sale to other operators including potential corporate customers.
On June 16, 2011, the Sukhoi Superjet 100 entered into commercial operation with Aeroflot on the route from Moscow to St Petersburg, marking the beginning of commercial operation of the new aircraft by the Russian national carrier.
Aeroflot has placed firm orders for delivery of a total of 30 Superjet 100 aircraft.
