Apr 12, 2013 (newstodate): Cargo on all-cargo aircraft is important to Denmark's Copenhagen Airport - but in 2012 volumes in this segment did not grow.
In contrast to belly cargo volumes that grew by 12 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 103,079 tonnes in 2012, cargo on freighter aircraft dropped by three percent, y-o-y, to a total of 19,364 tonnes, excluding cargo in integrator traffic.
One reason behind the significant drop in freighter cargo volumes is the decline in volumes throughout 2012 of Singapore Airlines Cargo that still maintains its Nordic freighter hub at Copenhagen Airport.
Operating freighter traffic at the airport now are Korean Air Cargo with two weekly rotations, Singapore Airlines Cargo with four weekly rotations, Emirates SkyCargo with one weekly rotation, Air China Cargo with two and China Cargo Airlines with five weekly rotations.
Of these carriers, Emirates is also offering cargo space on its daily flights to and from Dubai while Singapore Airlines is on-line at Copenhagen with four weekly rotations from Singapore, soon increasing to five weekly flights.
