Mar 05, 23013 (newstodate): Lufthansa Cargo is seeing significant potentials in the Finnish air cargo market and saw a sound development in 2012.
-For us, the Finnish market was business as usual in 2012. We saw a stable development over the year and has established a firm position as No 2 in the market, trailing only after Finnair, says Alexander Kohnen, Lufthansa Cargo Director for the Nordic and Baltic countries.
-We are seeing the market situation changing somewhat in Finland where Finnair's market share was earlier above 50 percent. This has been changing in 2012, probably reflecting a new pricing policy by Finnair and the fact that the carrier is now seeking its volumes in markets outside Finland, leaving new room for competitors in the home market.
-Anyhow, we are well-positioned in Finland with the right products and a stable quality, and Finland is today leading in the Nordic region as to the proportion of e-bookings that have attained a rate at 60 percent, says Mr Kohnen.
