Mar 05, 2013 (newstodate): The future of the Czech carrier CSA may rest in Korean hands.
According to Czech media, Korean Air Lines has confirmed its bid for a 44 percent stake in CSA that is currently in a tender process launched in December 2012.
Qatar Airlines was earlier also expressing interest in the tender but seems not to have handed in a bid.
In January, 2009, the Czech state put also 91.5 percent of the shares up for sale in an effort to privatize the airline, but the tender failed as no bids were eventually placed.
Under EU regulations, a non-EU party can only own a minority stake in an airline to retain its EU registration.
