Mar 14, 2013 (newstodate): The Czech carrier CSA will see Korean Air as a new stakeholder from this year.
After a tender process opened in 2012, only two carriers expressed interest in the offer - Qatar Airways and Korean Air.
Eventually only Korean Air stayed in the process - and the Czech government has now approved the sale of 44 percent of the stake in its national carrier to Skyteam alliance partner Korean Air.
The first efforts to privatize CSA were launched in 2006 and several aborted attempts were made since then.
With ownership in CSA, Korean Air is expected to set up Prague Airport as a new European hub in its network.
Korean Air has been online at Prague Airport since May 15, 2004, code-sharing with CSA on many routes.
