Mar 05, 2013 (newstodate): Only a short time after announcing the delivery of the second Airbus A319 to the Faroese carrier Atlantic Airways, new expansion is in the air.
The carrier has just landed a second contract with the Danish tour operator Atlantis Rejser to provide charter capacity, primarily out of Copenhagen, from October 2013.
This will secure the carrier's lease of a third Airbus A319, to be delivered by autumn 2013.
Only one year after the introduction of the first Airbus A319, the Faroe Islands' carrier Atlantic Airways will add a second Airbus in spring 2013 to operate charter flights for the tour operator to leisure destinations, primarily out of Denmark's Billund Airport.
By Q4, 2013, Atlantic Airways thus expects to operate three Airbus 319 and one Avro RJ aircraft.
