Mar 04, 2013 (newstodate): Gulf carriers clearly took the lead in air cargo growth in the Danish IATA cargo market in January 2013.
Over-all, the market grew by 6.4 percent, y-o-y, to 5,799 tonnes, boosted by Emirates that saw volumes up by 99.5 percent to 546 tonnes, and Qatar Airways that grew volumes by 52.8 percent, to 484 tonnes.
Air China was also on the rise on the background of limited traffic in January 2012, noting an increase by 59.4 percent to 332 tonnes in January 2013.
Topping the list was still SAS Cargo with 1,036 tonnes and up 44.5 percent, while KLM Cargo ranked second with 655 tonnes, but down 15.2 percent.
#6 was Korean Air Lines with a sound growth by 24.4 percent to 364 tonnes, while another Asian carrier, Singapore Airlines still dropped another 17.2 percent, to 238 tonnes.
Other carriers losing terrain in January 2013 was Lufthansa Cargo, down 18 percent to 314 tonnes, and Cargolux, #10, with 169 tonnes and declining 43.6 percent, y-o-y.
