Mar 22, 2013 (newstodate): Chinese benevolence may support the the modernization projects for Belorussia's Minsk National Airport.
The Belarus ambassador to China has been in negotiations with Chinese authorities over China's possible participation in the airport reconstruction including the construction of a second runway at Minsk.
Talks between the two countries already started in 2011, envisaging a project slated to be completed by 2014 including construction of a new passenger transit terminal, new information systems, new security equipment and construction of a new runway allowing for aircraft up to the size of the Airbus A380.
The airport currently has a 3,641m runway.
