Feb 14, 2013 (newstodate): The Ukrainian construction company Altcom has been contracted to build a new international terminal at Turkmenistan's Turkmenabat Airport.
The terminal is designed to handling of up to 500 passengers per hour, construction work will start from this month and the new facility will be commissioned by February 2016.
Winning the tender in September 2012, a consortium comprising Airport Consulting Partners and ILF Consulting Engineers will be responsible for development of the airports of Turkmenabat and Dashuguz as well as for management of the construction of a new international airport at the country's capital Ashgabat.
Turkmenabat Airport has one 2,749m runway and has today only one flight connection to Ashgabat.
