Feb 15, 2013 (newstodate): In 2012, the three main cargo airport in Sweden, managed by Swedavia, saw their combined volumes down by 19 percent, y-o-y.
Together, Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Malmo Sturup Airport handled a total of 206,927 tonnes of cargo in 2012 against 255,420 tonnes in 2011.
Declining the most in cargo volumes was Gothenburg Landvetter Airport that handled 52,948 tonnes of cargo, flow and trucked, which was a decline by 28.6 percent, y-o-y.
Volumes at Stockholm Arlanda Airport were 128,363 tonnes, a drop by 16.8 percent, y-o-y.
At Malmo Sturup Airport a total of 25,616 tonnes of cargo was handled in 2012, entailing a fall by 5.3 percent, y-o-y.
The over-all decline by 19 percent in 2012 matches closely with the decline by 20 percent in IATA export cargo sales in the Swedish market.
