Feb 25, 2013 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Transaero is poised to become the first airline in Russia, CIS and Eastern Europe to operate the Airbus A380 aircraft.
The airline signed an MoU with Airbus in October 2011, confirming the deal in June 2012 in the form of a purchase orders - and deliveries have now been agreed for two aircraft in 2015 and the remaining two in 2016.
The aircraft will be delivered under a leasing agreement with VEB-Leasing.
The large aircraft will be deployed on routes from Moscow Domodedovo Airport to destinations in South East Asia, North and Central America, and the Middle East.
