Feb 25, 2013 (newstodate): UTAir will become the first Russian carrier to launch flights connecting St Petersburg and Budapest.
Starting from April 28, 2013, the carrier will operate two weekly rotations on the route between St Petersburg Pulkovo Airport and Budapest Airport with Boeing 737-500 aircraft.
The new route will also become the first from St Petersburg into Europe by the carrier that today offers flights to Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Surgut, Noyabrsk, Syktyvkar, Khanty-Mansiysk, Naryan-Mar, generating some 400,000 passengers in 2012 from the airport.
Flights between St Petersburg and Budapest was earlier provided by the now-defunct Hungarian carrier Malev.
