Feb 08, 2013 (newstodate): Plans are now firming up for a thorough redevelopment of Kaliningrad Khabrovo Airport, serving Kaliningrad - a Russian enclave on the Baltic Sea.
Based on a master plan developed by the Dutch consulting company NACO, Khabrovo Airport will have its passenger terminal increased to 50,500 sq m allowing for handling capacity to reach 2.3 mio passenger in 2014, and five mio passengers by 2017.
Also included in the plans is an extension of the runway from 2,500 to 3,300m facilitating operations by wide-body aircraft on international routes.
The new works are slated for completion by 2015, funded by the investment group Aeroinvest.
