Feb 11, 2013 (newstodate): Lithuania's Vilnius Airport will see a new operator on the route to and from Ukraine.
New on the route between Kiev and Vilnius will be UTAir-Ukraine, opening flights by March 22, 2013, with three weekly rotations using ATR 72 aircraft.
The route was left vacant after Aerosvit stopped its flights in January 2013, forcing passengers between the two destinations to fly via Frankfurt or other transfer points.
The route between Kiev and Vilnius will be the carrier's first into western Europe and the Baltic region.
UTair-Ukraine was set up in September 2008, offering regular and charter services as well as MRO services for its fleet of ATR 42 and ATR 72 aircraft based at Kiev Zhuliany Airport.
