According to Lithuanian media reports, the intended sale will comprise both Small Planet Airlines, based in Lithuania, and its Polish subsidiary Small Planet Airlines Poland.
Small Planet Airlines, formerly named FlyLAL Charters, was established in 2007 when charter flights were separated from FlyLal, the national airline of Lithuania that went bust by the start of 2009.
In the fleet of the airlines are six Boeing 737 aircraft based in Denmark, France, United Kingdom and Italy, and three Airbus A320 aircraft, operating under the Polish subsidiary's AOC.
The sale of the airlines is reportedly to be finalized already by May 2013, sources say.
None of the carriers are IOSA-certified
